Paint Louis

Paint Louis is such an amazing event.  If you've never been to the graffiti wall near the riverfront in Saint Louis, you should definitely put it at the top of your list.  It's a mile long wall, pre-primed, and a mecca for local graffiti artists.  This is a true art form.  Amazing, larger than life pieces, all which come from a spray can.. its incredible.  As a spectator, it's a great place to take pictures (I did my senior pictures here two years ago) and even sneak in a little art of your own.  A month or two ago, my sisters and cousins and I made a mural to remember our late grandfather by, which is also pictured below.  The wall is filled with sentiment, thought provoking images, and pure creativity.

The best time to go though is during 'Paint Louis', an event at the wall where local artists come together to add to the wall, and even non-graffiti artists can freely make their mark too.  About 400-500 viewers came this year, and much to our pleasure, it is said that this year's event also brought the largest number of female painters yet, increasing significantly from last year! This event is so unique and it's always fun knowing you can leave your mark, even in a small way. Check out some of our contributions, new and old, and some of the awesome pieces from other artists that we loved most:)
