Eating Disorder Awareness Week

This week is Eating Disorder Awareness Week, something we find very important to concern ourselves with. Figuring out how to love your body is one of the most difficult things to do, especially in this era of social media, where everywhere you turn, there are images of perfection that you're told you are supposed to mimic. Especially in the fashion industry, one that we are very in tune to, there is so much pressure to look a certain way, and it can really get to you. Having a positive outlook on our bodies is so important, and teaching young girls, especially, to embrace their flaws and develop self-confidence is the best way to start that. We encourage you all to take a look at Project Heal's #WhatMakesMeBeautiful campaign. They are an amazing organization promoting a healthy body outlook and acting as a platform for women to share their struggles and triumphs in regards to eating disorders. I know having a positive outlook on my body has never been easy for me, and it is reassuring to know that those struggling with that now have a great outlet in Project Heal to share what they are going through and learn from others. The Doofykooks promote all shapes and sizes, because it is what's on the inside that truly matters when it comes down to it. Here are some shots of us loving life, embracing ourselves, and celebrating each other. Support the people around you doofs! Everyone deserves to practice self-love and receive that from others :))
