Hideaway

Photography by Molly, Maggie, and Kelly Nash

Here we are, finally getting around to posting some vacation photos. It's been weeks since we packed up our car and headed north to Door County, Wisconsin, but these pictures take us back. The air up there was so clear, and the nature surrounding us just seemed to much more saturated in color, so much more alive. Towards the end of our trip, we came upon this magical place hidden behind a thick forest that only our adventurous souls were dying to explore. Where the water met the earth, became the most beautiful coves and crevices we could ever find. There was no one around, nothing but the waves hitting the shoreline. Our time was short too, as we watched the sun fade from a brightly lit orb, to a watercolor painting across the sky. There was no better way to end our vacation than us three, together, in the most perfectly imperfect place ever. Our hideaway.

Museum of Contemporary Art

Just a few days ago, when trying to think of a cool new place to take some pictures and have some fun, I found myself thinking back to high school...I was brought back to a field trip I took, maybe sophomore year. We went to the Museum of Contemporary Art, among other places, and I remembered it to be the coolest place ever. It still is. Molly, Sam and I explored the museum together and took in all of the incredible pieces it offered. Modern art is my favorite because I love how much you can interact with the pieces in an especially emotional way. Instead of a literal representation of something, modern art a lot of times seems to be more of an emotional expression. It's as if the artists' soul becomes the art. We found ourselves enamored with each section of the museum, taking it all in, and finding some nice places to take pictures too. Definitely a must-see in Saint Louis.

August Playlist

Displaying FullSizeRender.jpg

Wow. It's hard to believe it's August already! For all of us school-attending doofs, the summer is coming to an end and reality is about to hit us, so what better thing to use than music? Here's the August playlist-a mix of the kookiness we've been listening to lately. After seeing the G-Eazy concert last month, my obsession with him has yet to die down, so of course we had to include one of his tunes. Other new rap we love includes the unbelievably weird yet amazing Minnesota by Lil Yachty, a new favorite, and I want by Madeintyo. We've got that summer-loving, bubbly music taste covered with tunes by Bombay Bicycle Club, Summer Twins, Habibi, and Au Revoir Simone. As always, the oldies have to make an appearance, so we added some Beatles and The Velvet Underground. Among all of these are some other quirky songs, some from old artists, and some from our new discoveries. Tune in with us on Spotify and see what else we're listening to (@thedoofykooks), and check out this playlist below! Happy August Doofs:)

On January 10th, 2018 I attended a concert for a very talented band, Tennis.  I decided to go alone. The definition of alone is “having no ...
